Common Wrist or Hand Conditions
Hand and wrist pain can originate from a number of causes.
Typical among these causes are Depuytren’s Contracture and Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
Depuytren’s Contracture is a tendon disorder, which causes one or more fingers to bend inwards towards the palm.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in the wrist, meanwhile, is caused by the compression of your median nerve as it travels through the narrow carpal tunnel in the wrist.
How do You Treat Wrist or Hand Pain?
Osteopathy can help to relieve, and in many cases, resolve hand and wrist pain.
Our osteopaths will start by assessing your injury and identifying the underlying cause of your pain before starting treatment.
Treatments may include manipulation, soft tissue massage, exercise advice, and we may recommend shockwave therapy for a chronic condition.
We also have a fantastic relationship with local imaging centres and other healthcare professionals including specialist consultants so, if we feel it is advisable, we will refer you on for further advice and treatment.
